Hey everyone!
I’m Neel, a 1st year JMC student, and I’m running to be your next Postgrad Rep.
Over the past year I’ve been very involved in the DoC community – attending events, speaking to people in higher years, and reaching out to alumni working in industry. Some of the most valuable conversations I’ve had at Imperial have been with people a few years ahead of me who shared honest advice about modules, projects, careers and internships.
I want to make those kinds of conversations much easier for everyone to access.
If elected, here’s what I’ll focus on:
-
Postgrad–Undergrad-Alumni Mixers: relaxed termly events where students and ex-students alike can collaborate and learn about pathways after the degree.
-
Alumni Networking Evenings: informal events where alumni come back to share career journeys and advice.
-
Mentorship Opportunities: connecting students with alumni or postgrads for guidance on careers, research, and life after Imperial.
Right now, there’s huge value in the experience of our postgrads and alumni — but not enough opportunities for current students to tap into it.
I want to help bridge that gap and make DoCSoc a place where students across all years stay connected.
Thanks for reading, and I’d really appreciate your vote!
