Dhurkka Kumanan

Hi! I’m Dhurkka Kumanan, a 2nd year Medical student running for Oncology Fundraiser Officer.

I would really love to take on this role to support Oncology Society. Firstly, as Secretary for a cultural society at Imperial, I have developed my skillset in organisation, communication and logistics to help run large scale events. Having acted in SORA Subcommittee to support their conference, I have developed an appreciation for the logistics required to carry out these events and the care required to deliver them well.

If elected as fundraiser officer, I will:

• Actively seek and secure sponsorships from relevant organisations and companies, keeping clear lines of communication open
• Develop clear and professional sponsorship proposals to ensure funds are secured to support our events
• Ensure sponsors are appropriately acknowledged and represented at our events
• Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with committee members and sponsors to ensure any queries can be adequately handled
• Work well within the committee to ensure clear understanding about current funds and outreach completed to date for the society
• Work proactively and enthusiastically to promote Oncology Society and ensure events can be run to a high standard

Overall, I am really committed to contributing towards Oncology Society this year - I’d really appreciate your support and hope to be part of the Oncology committee this year!
