Hi everyone, my name is Seyoung and I am running for the Secretary role of the Oncology Society. I’m passionate about making our society more connected, approachable, and useful, not just on the day of events, but afterwards too.
As Secretary, there are 2 main things I would want to bring to the society which increases the value of every event we have:
- First, I will share a short “summary sheet” after each event, and include speaker contact details where appropriate, so accessing mentorship, advice, and opportunities becomes easier, faster, and more straightforward.
- Second, I will create a monthly “Research Radar” bulletin highlighting ongoing oncology-related research and opportunities. With this, I aim to have both large-scale research to improve awareness and knowledge in oncology, as well as, have smaller or more local research that students may be able to engage with.
Alongside this, I’ll keep communication clear and consistent, promote events earlier, and make it simple for everyone to engage, whether you’re new to oncology or already set on it. My name is Seyoung and I’ll make sure your time with the society translates into learning, connections, and opportunities.
