Hi, my name is Akshita, and I would love to be your next Treasurer!

I have been involved with the Paediatrics Society through volunteering with Playteam and attending the ICSM Paediatrics Conference this year. Through these experiences, I have seen how careful organisation and planning ensure activities run smoothly and are enjoyable for everyone involved. I’ve also recognised the impact of strong financial management, and how it underpins the success of these events - making sure resources are available and every initiative can reach its full potential.

When finances are well-managed and events are organised effectively, members can gain the most from every opportunity, whether it’s learning, networking, or simply enjoying society activities. As Treasurer, I would ensure that every event is well-planned, financially secure, and memorable for all participants.

If elected, my focus would be on:

• Keeping finances transparent and organised, giving the committee confidence to plan events effectively and ensuring nothing is overlooked.

• Exploring sponsorship and funding opportunities, working alongside the Sponsorship and Fundraising Officer to increase resources so the society can run events successfully and support new initiatives.

By managing finances responsibly, I hope to ensure that the Paediatrics Society can run smoothly, grow sustainably, and provide enriching experiences for everyone in Paediatrics Society!
