Aaron Dhiman

Hi everyone, I'm Aaron Dhiman, a 2nd year medical student, who is excited to be applying for the Specialty Liasion position.

I strongly believe that recent experiences have put me in good stead for this position:

• Doctorpreneurs Society Treasurer. Taught me how to use the Union website (e.g. for refunds, ticketing, event budgeting, etc.) which I know will be useful for organising events
• Subcommittee for The International Orthopaedic Conference and The International Transplant and Vascular Conference. Involved marketing, (using my positions in other societies and my general network), creating social media posts, setting up workshops (specifically the Vessel Anastamosis workshop) and leading groups of delegates. I have gained insight into what it takes for an event of this scale to run smoothly.
• Sikh Society Publicity Officer. Involves creating instagram posts/reels x2 a week (on average), posting stories daily (e.g. reminders about events) and helping to organise 10+ events (one of which consisted of 70+ attendees from universities across London). I am also leading multiple projects: the introduction of Punjabi as an extracurricular course at Imperial and working closely with a 4th year medical student and the Head of the medical school to adjust the ICHT uniform policy for clearer guidance on wearing religious clothing and artefacts in clincal settings.

As a diligent and passionate member of the ICSM community, I look forward to working in a group of like-minded students!
