Lena Hamza

Hi everyone! I’m Lena and I would love to be Vice Chair for Dermatology society. I have a real interest in the specialty, so I explored it more through a clinical attachment I organised for myself; this is a field I really see myself in. So, I would love to take on a big role and be a driver of holding even more events for dermatology-lovers like myself. I would be proactive in holding events in collaboration with other societies I am on committee for, like SIMA (Student Iraqi Medical Association) to reach an even wider audience: things such as teaching series an event in which Dermatologists can provide guidance about portfolio-building to access training posts.

Being a part of SIMA as charity officer this year gave me the opportunity to organise various large events. The skills I have developed, like working within deadlines would be a great addition to DermSoc. Being part of organising an academic conference for Paeds this year, ‘Meet the Paediatricians,’ taught me the importance of being on-the-ball; I plan on bringing this energy to Dermatology.
