Amanda Aalto

Hi everyone! Mg name is Amanda and I am applying to be the PHEM communications officer. I have loved being a member of PHEM this year, from the talks to the ambulance observer shifts it has been so eye opening and I have learned so much. I would be more than honored to take a more active role in the future as I am very passionate about pre hospital care. I have been an Emergency Medical Technician for two years which has been so rewarding and getting the opportunity to explore emergency care in one of the biggest emergency medicine systems in the world has been exciting and even eye opening at times.
I believe I am well suited to be a communications officer because I enjoy serving as a liason between people, having developed my communication (and especially emailing) skills throughout my not just as an EMT but as a stage manager. Being a stage manager for five years I have served as a point of contact between large groups of actors, crews, and creative teams in order to put on a production. As a result I have developed my organizational, communication, and teamworking skills all of which can be directly translated to serve as a communications officer. I am looking forward to furthering our PHEM knowledge and skills together!
