Hello everyone! I am Nicole, and I am excited to run for your next Cardiovascular Society Secretary.
Having attended numerous medical and surgical conferences as a first-year medical student, I have developed a keen interest in getting involved in the administrative precision required to run a successful society, in a specialty I am enthusiastic about.
As a finalist in a city-wide public speaking competition, I understand the power of clear, professional communication - a transferable skill essential for bridging the gap between our committee and the wider student body. My experience goes beyond 'mere talk': as a Bristol Education Partnership representative, I single-handedly coordinated a city-wide Medicine career talk. By managing cross-school logistics and recruiting guest speaker, I proved I can handle the complex scheduling, digital organisation and multi-party liason that a Secretary role demands.
As your secretary, I will:
- Keep concise and actionable records of society meetings, uploaded to a centralised drive within hours
- Implement structured logistical updates for committees and monthly newsletters for the Cardiovascular Society members
- Work closely with the committee to help coordinate any administrative tasks, e.g. room bookings and speaker recruitment
I am eager to learn, adapt and work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth operation of the society. I would be incredibly grateful for your support, thank you all!
