Immunology: Chair

Hi everyone, I am Dallon Chon, and I am running for Chair of the ICSM Immunology Society. 🗳️

I am standing because I care about two things: keeping the society strong, and making it genuinely useful for students. Immunology can feel abstract in lectures, but it becomes exciting when we connect it to real patients, current research, and future careers. I want our society to be the place where that connection happens.

I already serve as an elected Phase 1a Academic Representative, on the Oncology Society academic subcommittee, and support the Immunology Society conference publicity team. Through these roles, I have experience listening to student feedback, organising events, communicating with speakers, and helping committees deliver on great ideas.

If elected Chair, I will focus on three priorities. First, academic value: clinically relevant talks, revision support, and accessible sessions for both MBBS and BMB students. Second, community: a welcoming society culture where first years feel comfortable joining and asking questions. Third, continuity: stronger committee coordination, early planning, and better handover, so the society keeps growing year to year.

I will prioritise collaboration with other societies to create interdisciplinary events linking immunology, oncology, and digital medicine.
I am not running to add another title to my CV. I am running because this society matters, and I am ready to put in the work to lead it well.
If you want a Chair who is organised, approachable, and committed to building an active, inclusive, and academically strong Immunology Society, I would really appreciate your vote.
