Hi! I’m Manya, a third-year physics student. I know that it’s hard to figure out what exactly you want to do after your degree - internship applications can be difficult to balance with uni work, and can feel overwhelming at times. Through a role as Careers and Sponsorships Officer I want to help make it slightly easier.

If elected, I would try to:

• Set up an online database for finding physics research internships to help keep track of deadlines. This could be updated by students from older years who have knowledge of what’s out there in different research areas.
• Fix the UROP app! I would work in conjunction with the department to ensure placements are advertised in a timely manner and are up to date.
• Continue to engage with relevant companies and sponsors to provide students with a wide range of opportunities to learn about future career paths.

I hope these will reduce stress during what is already a stressful degree.
