Women in SET: Junior Treasurer

Hello everyone!

My name is Melis, and I'm a second-year Chemical Engineering student. Having spent the past year as IWD Officer at WSET, it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my time at Imperial. I've loved every moment of working with this incredible community and I'm excited to announce my candidacy for Junior Treasurer.

In my current role, I had the opportunity to lead the planning and execution of International Women's Day, coordinating panels, exhibitions, and events that brought our community together around something truly meaningful. This experience sharpened my organisational and communication skills and gave me a real appreciation for what goes into running a society effectively behind the scenes.

If elected, I aim to:

- Ensure responsible and transparent management of society finances, keeping our events well-funded and accessible to all members.

- Use my existing relationships within the society to support smooth collaboration between teams and help deliver memorable events.

- Bring the same creativity and dedication I applied to IWD into the financial planning process, ensuring WSET continues to grow and thrive.

Being part of this society has meant so much to me, and I would be honoured to continue contributing in this new capacity. I hope to have your support to make the upcoming year both impactful and unforgettable.

All the best,

Melis
