Priya Misra
Hi everyone!
I’m Priya, a second-year Chemical Engineering student, and I am excited to run for the position of Junior Treasurer.
Being a mentee in the WSET mentorship scheme this year was a transformative experience for me. The guidance and community I found were invaluable, and it truly inspired me to step up and give back to a society that does so much for its members. Moreover, I’ve always been impressed by how well-organized WSET events are, and I want to help maintain that standard behind the scenes.
As your Junior Treasurer, I aim to:
- Prioritize Impactful Spending: I will focus on the strategic distribution of funds to ensure core programs like our mentorship scheme and career workshops continue to flourish.
- Ensure Operational Reliability: By maintaining meticulous internal records, I will support the Treasurer in ensuring smooth financial operations and seamless transactions.
- Foster Transparent Communication: I will act as a clear link within the committee to ensure our budget stays strictly aligned with the interests and needs of our members.
Additionally, I look forward to going beyond financial duties to help lead events that truly empower women in STEM. I believe my commitment to fostering a supportive culture, backed by my practical skill set, makes me a great candidate for this role. This society has already inspired me so much and I hope to bring my enthusiasm and organisational skills to the team to ensure another incredible year for Women in SET.
Your support would be hugely appreciated!
