William Crow
Robotics: Infrastructure Officer
Over the past two years as Infrastructure Officer, my goal has been simple: make the lab easier to build in, harder to break, and more fun to experiment in.
I’ve focused on three core things:
- Reliability.
From maintaining our lab equipment and 3D printers to improving documentation and access systems, I’ve worked to ensure members can focus on building robots — not troubleshooting infrastructure. - Scalability.
As the society grows, our systems need to grow with it. I’ve improved organisation of tools, streamlined processes for project teams, and made our technical resources more sustainable for long-term use. - Enablement.
I’ve aimed to lower the barrier to entry for new members while supporting advanced teams with the tools and space they need to push ambitious projects.
If re-elected, I want to:
- Further professionalise lab systems and safety processes
- Improve onboarding so new members can get building faster
- Expand our digital infrastructure (documentation, version control practices, shared resources)
- Continue building a lab culture that is organised, collaborative, and technically ambitious
Robotics at Imperial should feel like a real engineering environment. I want to keep building the foundation that makes that possible.
I’d love your support to continue strengthening the backbone of the society.
