Chemical Engineering: Vice Chair

I’m Aryaveer Chaudhary, and I’m running to be your next Vice Chair because I believe our society should be the primary bridge between the lecture theatre and your future career. My dedication to this department is proven; I have served as your Sustainability Officer in Year 1 and your Industrial Relations Officer in Year 2.

Beyond my work within the society, I have built a professional background in quantitative analysis, corporate strategy, and renewable energy modeling. I’ve spent my time outside of Imperial analyzing market signals, optimizing supply chains, and researching battery degradation. I want to take the technical rigor we use in our MEng and apply it to making this society more valuable for every student.

My Vision for Year 3

As Vice Chair, I will move beyond standard socials to provide high-impact opportunities:

  • ChemEng Hackathons: I will introduce group-based hackathons focused on consulting-style cases and quantitative projects, allowing us to apply our Python and MATLAB skills to real-world problems.

  • Alumni Mentoring: Establishing a formal network connecting you with ChemEng graduates who can offer genuine insights into the industry.

  • Engineering to Finance: I will host specialized sessions to help you translate your engineering degree into roles in high-finance and quantitative analysis.

  • Industry Expansion: We will bring back the heavyweights, specifically targeting Oil & Gas firms and major consultancies to diversify our career support.
