Duncan Bisset
My name is Duncan Bisset, and I am currently pursuing an MSc in Theoretical Physics. I bring five years of experience in dodgeball, complemented by twelve years of training in judo and karate. I represent Luxembourg at the international level in dodgeball and have developed a strong understanding of the sport through competing in the English National League, the Scottish Superleague, and the Belgian National League, in both Men’s and Mixed categories, as well as participating in a European Championship.
During my time in the sport, I have had the privilege of training in Edinburgh under a Scotland national team coach alongside Scottish international-level players. In Luxembourg, I train under two former Netherlands national team players and also with London Storm, where I work alongside numerous international-level players. These experiences have significantly shaped my approach to training, teamwork, and competition. If elected, I am committed to passing on the lessons, standards, and professionalism I have gained to future Imperial dodgeball players.
If appointed Men’s 1s Captain, I will introduce meaningful improvements to BUCS training through a more professional and structured approach. The first key change will be implementing a consistent and reliable training schedule. In addition to well-organised Tuesday sessions, I will introduce Friday training focused on drills, tactical game scenarios, and practice matches. I view the BUCS Premier League as a highly competitive environment, and as someone who competes internationally, I will expect a certain level of seriousness, discipline, and commitment from all players representing the Men’s 1s team.
