Jaime Cortes Vilaplana

¡¡Holaa!! I’m Jaime, a second-year Chemical Engineering student, and I’m excited to run for next year’s Spanish and Latin American Society Vice President!

I’m originally from Sevilla, Spain, and I lived in the UK for 4 years before moving to London. Being away from home has shown me firsthand how important it is to have a spanish-speaking community that reminds us of where we come from, keeps us connected to our culture, and helps us meet new people.

I am proactive, organised, and enjoy working closely with others. As Vice President, I will support the President and the rest of the committee in planning and organising all the events we look forward to, while also helping behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly.

I am ready to put in all my effort to continue growing the Spanish and Latin American Society and to help create a welcoming and active community with new events that bring people together.
