Indian: Charity and Outreach Officer

Hey everyone, I’m Kavish, a first-year Mechanical Engineering student :)

Having already served on the subcommittee this past year, I’ve seen by myself the fantastic energy of this dhamakedar society. While Imperial life feels like a non-stop grind of problem sheets and deadlines (I get it, trust), I believe our community is the strongest when we look further than the library walls. As Swami Vivekananda said, "They alone live, who live for others," and I’m running for Charity and Outreach Officer to turn this philosophy into impact for our Indian Soc.

I've learned from engineering that strong foundations and effective communication are the cornerstones of the best systems. I already have a "behind-the-scenes" view of our operations thanks to my time on the subcommittee, and I'm prepared to expand that. I've always thought that "shooting your shot" is powerful, whether you're contacting a nearby NGO or making a pitch to a possible sponsor. I want to apply that proactive approach to our outreach, making sure that we are not only organising fantastic events but also forming significant alliances that support both our local London community and our Indian roots.

I promise to close the gap between meaningful philanthropy and our active social calendar. I'll concentrate on obtaining sponsorships that not only provide funding for our events but also establish enduring connections with the larger business community. I'm personable, well-organised, and familiar with this team's workflow. Together, let's ensure that Indian Soc leaves a lasting legacy that extends well beyond campus.
