Hebe Wong
Biology: Academic Events Officer
Hi everyone!! My name is Hebe, a first year biologist, and I am running to be your academic events officer next year!
Through out my first year in Biosoc, I have enjoyed attending the wide variety academic events we've had, and I would love to keep that momentum going. :)
My ideas for next year:
- Organise events that cover a broader range of biological topics - from ecology and evolution to cell biology, genetics and physiology.
- Increasing the number of academice events - aiming for at least one per month.
- More collaboration - working with other societies within Imperial and from other universities to provide networking opportunities.
- Keep the tradition of trips going - hosting similar events like the Oxford Museum trip, Kew gardens visit and Varsity Life Sciences at Cambridge
- Organise career talks - to offer support for internships and job applications, and hear from alumni with succesful career paths
Vote for me if you want someone you can easily talk to, whether it’s about event ideas, exam stress, or future plans. I work well with others and will collaborate closely with other committee members to make our academic events the best they can be.
Thank you for reading my manifesto and Vote Hebe as your Academic Events Officer!!!
