Aeronautics: Industrial Liaisons Officer

Studying Aero at Imperial is intense. Stressing over whether your degree will land you a placement or graduate job shouldn't further add to the pressure. I’m running for Industrial Liaison Officer (ILO) to take the inertia out of networking, secure funding for incredible AeroSoc socials, and bring the best recruiters directly to you.

  1. Make Sponsors Work for Us: Company logos on merch are nice, but does that really land you a job? I will push sponsors away from generic recruitment presentations, towards what actually matters: CV clinics, assessment centre prep, and eventually fast-tracked applications for our members.
  2. Beyond Industry Giants: We respect giants like Airbus and Rolls-Royce, but our degree opens doors everywhere. Whether you're aiming for F1, space-tech, autonomous systems, or consulting, I will actively expand our network, so that events reflect the jobs you actually want.
  3. Bigger Mixers, Better Networking To attract top companies with large budgets, we need numbers. I will partner with other societies to host joint industry mixers. Pooling resources means bigger budgets for AeroSoc, better networking events, and direct access to high-profile recruiters.
  4. Real Technical Representation I know how to pitch our skills because I'm doing the same hands-on engineering. From designing an ICAV fuselage and developing ICLR electronics, to my time inside engineering consultancies like Buro Happold and Ramboll—I know how to translate our projects into a language that industry listens to.

You put in the hours. It’s time our industry partnerships reflected your worth. Vote Agastya for ILO
