Consultancy: Vice President: Events

Hi everyone,

I’m Penny, a second-year Chemistry student, and I’m running for Vice President of Events because I understand how challenging the path into consulting can feel. Many Imperial students are interested in the field, but often find themselves unsure of where to begin or how to stand out. What do firms really look for? How do you gain meaningful experience early on? How do you move from simply being interested to being genuinely prepared? I believe our events should provide the clarity, direction, and experience that help answer those questions.

I don’t think preparation only happens in formal workshops; it also comes from consistent exposure and being part of an active community. I want our events to feel cohesive throughout the year, whether that means:

  • Weekly or biweekly society events that build momentum
  • Cross-society collaborations exploring consulting across different disciplines
  • Cross-university events hosted at Imperial
  • Smaller, more informal sessions that encourage open discussion and peer connection

I want members to see Consultancy Society as a space they regularly engage with, not just attend once before applications. A strong events culture builds confidence gradually, and that consistency is what makes a real difference.

As the Events Officer of ChemSoc and former President of Beit, I have experience organising large-scale career fairs to smaller welcome week events. I care about structure as well as creating an environment where people feel comfortable engaging. I would love to bring that mindset to Consultancy Society, and I’d truly appreciate your support!
