Gary Sounthararajah

Over the past year I’ve had the chance to be involved in many RAG events, and through that I’ve really seen how much work goes into making them successful. From the planning stages to the events themselves, RAG brings people together while raising money for important causes. Being part of that environment has made me want to contribute even more and support the work RAG does.

Running for RAG Treasurer, I want to help ensure that the financial side of RAG runs smoothly so the team can continue organising the events that students enjoy and that raise money for charity. Managing budgets and keeping things organised behind the scenes is an important part of making sure events can happen effectively and sustainably.

Having been involved in RAG activities already, I understand the effort and coordination that goes into them. I would aim to support the committee by keeping finances clear, transparent, and well managed so that events can run without unnecessary complications.

RAG is an important part of the student community because it gives people the chance to have fun while making a real difference. I’d love the opportunity to help support that mission and play a role in making sure RAG can continue to grow and run the events that make it such a great part of university life.
