We've all had those long days in Abdus Salam, Boss Space, and CAGB203. But uni's not just about tutorial sheets and lab reports.. It's about the people you meet, the memories you make, and those random midweek events that somehow become the highlight of your term. And honestly, who better to share them with than people who understand the pain of SolidWorks crashing for the 100th time?
I'm running because I genuinely love bringing people together and creating spaces where everyone feels included.
For me, good events are about energy. An event can be affordable, but if the vibe isn't there, it's as quiet as a Thermo lecture. They should help us rewind and connect. I want to organise a balance of fun socials, creative themed nights, and exciting trips. YES, I'll push for paintball or karting if there's enough interest.
I want events where the first-years feel welcome, finalists feel engaged, and everyone feels like they belong. This means listening attentively to all students, from first-years to PhDs. How? Consistent communication with year reps and feedback forms throughout CAGB for YOUR ideas and recommendations.
On the academic side, I want career and networking events that are genuinely useful but still relaxed, from industry leaders, alumni, and beyond. Professional doesn't have to mean intimidating.
Help me make MechSoc the place you look forward to after a long week- a safe, fun space within the Mech Eng chaos. If that sounds like your kind of year, I'd really appreciate your vote.
