Electrical Engineering: Industrial Liason Officer

Name: Kerem Teker
Year & Course: 2nd Year EIE
Role: EESoc Industrial Liaison Officer

Why Me (Less ChatGPT-ey part for people who won’t read the rest)

Let’s be honest: most of us show up to industry events hoping to learn something useful, not to deliver a perfect elevator pitch to a recruiter.

The best conversations with people in industry rarely happen in stiff networking settings. They happen when things feel relaxed, informal, and genuinely interesting.

My goal would be to make EESoc’s industry engagement feel just like that.

Key Priorities

• Industry events that feel approachable and useful, not overly formal or intimidating

• More opportunities for smaller conversations with alumni and engineers about real career paths

• Workshops and talks focused on practical insights: what people actually do in industry day-to-day

• Stronger connections between EEE/EIE students and companies through events that encourage genuine interaction

Vision

EESoc already has strong links with industry. My goal would be to build on that by making those connections more accessible and more engaging for students.

Industry events should feel like opportunities to explore careers, ask questions, and learn from people who were once in the same position as us.
