Hi everyone, I’m Subanu and I would love to be your ICOGS president 2026-2027!

For me, no specialty quite compares to O&G and ICOGS has been the key to developing that interest throughout medical school.

This year I was fortunate enough to chair ICOGS Conference 2026 alongside Vanathi and Moyin. Leading a large subcommittee and planning an event of this scale strengthened my organisational, decision-making and teamwork skills. Working closely with our amazing core committee gave me valuable insight into what it takes to run a successful society, both the challenges and the rewards.

I have worked hard to strengthen ICOGS’ external connections, helping our society join the London university-wide ULOGS conference for the first time and networking with RCOG. I have led and supported collaborations with several societies, including running a journal club workshop at the MWF conference and neonatal life-support workshop with ICSM Paediatrics.

This year’s ICOGS committee achieved incredible success with the mentorship scheme, which increased membership to an all-time high and highlighted the strong interest in O&G. As President, I would build on this momentum and expand ICOGS’ reach through initiatives such as:

• Introducing a regular workshop series
• Inviting research authors to journal club
• Supporting members to attend national conferences through subsidised tickets
• Spotlighting research opportunities, teaching and mentorship

More than anything, I want to help our society keep growing and ensure that it feels accessible to anyone interested in exploring the specialty. Your support would honestly mean the world – thank you! 🫶🏽
