Hi everyone! I’m Lavanya a fourth year medic currently intercalating in global health and I would love to be your next president alongside Teesta!

GP plays a vital but underappreciated role in healthcare. GP is the heart of medicine – let’s make GP society equally strong.

I’m well-equipped to be your next president as I am an experienced member of committee with 2 years of experience. I’ve been on committee for Students for Global Health and subcommittee for Teddy Bear Hospital.

I am running with Teesta Maulik and as presidents we’ll continue the excellent work carried out by the society this year along with our visions for next year including:

1. 🧪 GPs Do Research - Helping students to get into research through tutorials and showcasing of research done by GPs in training
2. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 GP Family! - A new scheme linking consultants, GPs in training and students into an academic family allowing individuals to provide support to one another
3. 🕵️‍♀️ Consultations Skills Workshop - Improving preparedness for practice by having simulated patients and feedback given by experienced GPs
4. 📖 Public Health & Education - Faciliate key partnerships with SfGH and other societies to provide regular tutorials
5. 🔁 Feedback - Listening to the community and gaining insights on what’s needed

I’m a highly dedicated individual and work well in teams and with others. I am really looking forward to being your next president and would really appreciate your vote!
