Akshara Suresh
Hello everyone, I’m Akshara, and I am running to be your MedEd Secretary.
Through my roles as a Phase 1a MedEd lecturer and Junior Anatomy Series lecturer, I have seen how a supportive academic environment shapes the student experience, and I am eager to contribute more directly to its development.
Through serving on committees and subcommittees across nine societies this year, alongside coordinating national teaching programmes reaching over 500 sixth-form students, I have developed the organisational skills needed to support the smooth delivery of MedEd’s initiatives. I am confident in managing administrative responsibilities, maintaining clear communication between committees, and working closely with ICSMSU to ensure events are well organised and effective.
My Aims:
- MedEd Calendar: I want to improve awareness and use of the MedEd calendar. Currently, it is underused, and many students are unaware of its benefits. By working with the webmaster and year coordinators, I will ensure events are uploaded well in advance and clearly signposted to all year groups.
- Streamline Mock Exams (e.g., CPA and OSCE): I will ensure volunteers are fully briefed before the day to minimise disruption. This will help us run high-quality sessions smoothly and in collaboration with the SU.
- Increase Student Feedback: I will introduce a suggestion box to gather student feedback on what they would like from the society and how we can further improve their experience.
Vote for me, and I will strengthen MedEd's outreach and administration to support your academic journey throughout medical school. Thank you!
