Hey guys! I'm Yasmin, and I'm running for events officer this year :D

As chemists, it's really easy to be overwhelmed by all the deadlines, the labs and the lectures that we often forget to take some time to unwind and connect with the people around us. My goal as your events officer is to hold lots of memorable events that make you want to participate! With all these events, I hope to open doors to new experiences for everyone in ChemSoc.

As your events officer, I aim to diversify the events calendar. From social events to networking events, there will be something for everyone! Here are some events I have planned as a sneak peek for when I get elected...

• Weekly pub-quiz-style Chemistry quizzes at the Chem Cafe (with prizes!!)
• Cook-offs and baking classes in the Chemistry Kitchen
• Hands-on workshops on laboratory skills you'll need
• Panels and seminars with ChemSoc alumni
• More events with Chem families to ensure you stay connected

I also plan to introduce a voting system to ensure YOU get to be a part of choosing the events we run. With a feedback-based system, I hope to increase engagement with ChemSoc events tenfold. I also aim to improve the event timings to make it more accessible for commuters to participate.

My number one priority is to ensure everyone in ChemSoc feels a sense of belonging through our events. With me as your events officer, you won't have to worry about being left behind. Vote for Yasmin!!
