Lucas Pigott

Orchestra - Symphony: Librarian

I’m Lucas, a member of the Violin IIs. I’m a first-year PhD student in the Maths Department, after studying in Bath for my undergrad. I enjoy reading (ironic, I know), football, and of course music.

Over the past year, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed playing in ICSO, attending rehearsals consistently, and learning from our players and conductors. I’ve loved the atmosphere at ICSO, both in the shared commitment and passion for music, whilst also being a warm and friendly environment. I would look to welcome new players and extend that atmosphere across my time in committee.

As Librarian, I would ensure all scans of practice parts, and physical copies of music are available on time, managing rentals and returns efficiently. I would arrive early and stay late at rehearsals and concerts to make sure everything runs smoothly, and I’ll be ready to handle any music-related queries promptly.

As a postgrad I am also in a position to provide consistent support throughout the year, as I have no exams and will be on campus in London full-time, year-round. This flexibility means I can help pick up extra responsibilities when needed, particularly during busier periods such as exam season, ensuring that music and rehearsals always run smoothly. I would aim to make life as easy as possible for the other librarian, the players, and the rest of the committee. I aim to learn from, and continue, the brilliant work of our current Librarians.
