Aurelia Berg
I am running for Social Events Officer because our course deserves a greater abundance and diversity of events. I want to organise events that are varied, affordable, and genuinely enjoyable, including inter-year socials, collaborations with other societies, creative events, and events similar to the career panel, where we can learn about possibilities for the future or develop professional skills. I’ll work closely with the rest of the committee to ensure events are well-communicated, well-organised, and actually fit around our workload.
Beyond organising events, I want to build a stronger sense of community within the course and among first years. That means creating opportunities for first years to meet older students, encouraging collaboration, and making sure events are accessible to everyone. Most importantly, I wish to actively listen to what the cohort wants through feedback and suggestions, to plan events that reflect everyone's interests, and make sure there is something for everyone. Vote for me if you want a year of socials that help us unwind, connect across year groups, and make Biochemistry feel like a community.
