Hello everyone! I’m Begüm, I’m a second-year Biochemistry student, and this year I had the honour to serve as one of your Academic Events Officers, a PASS mentor to some lovely freshers and an academic representative to my cohort! It would be my pleasure to continue contributing to our society and community by taking on the role of the President.
I want to make our community accessible, engaging and entertaining for all of us, and I want our events to be those you anticipate attending. We are a group of talented, smart, passionate young people, and I can definitely see a bigger potential for this society. As a President, my goal will be to organise more opportunities for people to explore their passions and interests as projects, hackathons, and even peer-taught sessions. I also want to increase the amount of socials and Biochemistry-family interactions.
We all face fatigue and burnout throughout the year, but as a President, I want to lead a society that delegates and handles tasks well, and I want to make it an enjoyable and fulfilling experience for committee members as well.
