Chemical Engineering: Secretary

Hi everyone!

I'm sure you've alread seen my name in emails and whataspp groupchats promoting tour events including the ETH Zurich exchange. After serving as your Tours Officer this year, I’ve realised something powerful: half of society chaos is just email chaos. Hence, I’m now running for Secretary of ChemEngSoc.

As Secretary, I’ll launch a bold, scroll-worthy weekly newsletter you’ll actually open: with clear deadlines, an “Opportunity of the Week,” and a ChemEng spotlight so we flex our wins properly. I’ll implement a comms timeline so every event is promoted at least 10 days in advance (no more “oh that was yesterday?” moments), and by the end of Term 1 I’m aiming to boost engagement by 25%. It’s realistic, measurable, and completely within my power, since I already understand how our society runs. Bottom line: clearer emails, better hype, less confusion, more ChemEngSoc bonding.

Organising tours taught me how to coordinate with companies, manage tight deadlines, handle last-minute changes without panicking (well… mostly), and communicate clearly so 40+ engineers actually show up to the right place at the right time. I’ve learned how important timing, clarity, and consistency are because one unclear message can mean a missed opportunity.

If elected, I want to make ChemEngSoc communication clear, consistent, and genuinely exciting to read (yes, even emails ๐Ÿ‘€).
