Marya and Hasan are pleased to announce they are running together.
"With a combined 6 years of executive experience across surgical committees, including iPRAS, TVS, and Surgical Society, we have chaired major national events and led the UK’s largest student-run Surgical Conference, Trauma Conference 2025/26.
Across our roles, we have secured over £10,000 in sponsorship and built strong relationships with partners including Casualty Resources, ASiT, RCS, BAPRAS, Anatomage, MSF, and BOA. We are placed to lead SurgSoc into its next stage of growth."
We aim to introduce the following innovations and new events:
- Imperial Indexed Surgical Journal: A student-led platform supporting publication, academic writing, and portfolio development
- Global Leaders Discussion Series: Interactive panels exploring leadership, innovation, and surgical practice
- Surgical Crisis & MedTech Themed Hackathons: Multidisciplinary innovation events connecting medicine, engineering, and industry to solve real-world surgical problems
- Minimally-Invasive & Cardiac Skills Day: Hands-on training providing early exposure to specialist surgical skills
- Surgical Mentorship Scheme: Pairing students with NHS and international surgeons and senior colleagues for guidance, questions, and collaborative projects
Inclusivity, Collaboration & Outreach Schemes
- SurgSoc Event Passport & Bursary Scheme: Attend two events and receive a subsidised fee for the third, alongside financial support to ensure cost is never a barrier
- Cross-Society Collaboration & Equipment Sharing: Joint events and shared access to surgical equipment to improve accessibility and reduce costs
- Reintroducing a Year 1 representative alongside the Year 2 role
- Secondary School Outreach: widening participation.
Thank you for your support.
