I’m a first-year Biochemistry student and also one of your First-Year Reps.
Joining ABACUS has been central to my first year. It’s given me a space to meet like-minded people of similar backgrounds and experiences not just within Imperial, but across all 8 unis. Whether it’s bonding over food or nights out, these events have provided me with a well-needed break from the stressful Imperial environment we all know too well...
Being a First-Year Rep has helped me get more involved in ABACUS, and I’ve learnt so much from working with the current comm (and from our many library yap sessions). It’s shown me how much thought, effort and time goes into making this society what it is.
To me, a good Vice President is a responsible and creative individual who is organized and outgoing. Someone who actively reaches out, listens, and makes sure members feel heard. Someone who doesn’t just sit on ideas but turns them into action.
As your VP, I want to boost engagement beyond just clubs (as iconic as they are). I’ll introduce more varied, affordable and trend-aware events that reflect what you want, whether that’s fun socials, cultural events, collaborations, or something completely new. ABACUS should be fun, inclusive, and accessible - even on a uni budget.
I want to help build a society where everyone feels welcomed, represented, and excited to show up.
