The first place people will look towards when they hear about the Imperial Japanese Society is our online presence - mainly our ICLJS Instagram page, as well as the alumni account and society Linkedin. I want the first place they look to leave a strong, positive impact on them.
This year, the committee has worked hard to create a cleaner, more cohesive brand, with regular posts and updates on each platform. With my background in the arts, I believe I can continue developing that identity so that every post, story, and event reflects a professional, vibrant, and unified society, one that is more appealing to potential members and sponsors alike.
Beyond aesthetics, I plan to organise content in advance along with the social secretary and regularly promote events with updates and countdowns on social media. I will also actively manage and grow our LinkedIn presence to strengthen connections with alumni and corporate partners, particularly for careers events.
The representation of Japanese culture at Imperial begins in the online space. And I am running for Japanese Society Events Officer because I believe I have the necessary skillset to make this space as exciting, welcoming, and inviting as possible.
