Hi, I'm Shiven — and I'm running to be your Secretary for IndianSoc 26/27.
Over the past year, I've experienced IndianSoc as a member and seen first-hand the scale and ambition behind events like EMW, Just Bollywood, Utsav and Friction. What makes these events successful isn't just creativity — it's the structure, communication and coordination behind them. That's what I want to strengthen.
As Secretary, I'll focus on three key areas:
Clearer Communication — concise, action-focused meeting minutes with clear responsibilities and deadlines, so no one is left uncertain about next steps.
Proactive Logistics — earlier room bookings, centralised event timelines, and contingency planning to reduce last-minute stress during high-pressure periods like EMW and JB.
Stronger Coordination — improving collaboration between CoreComm, ADs, Marketing and Events so that ideas move seamlessly from planning into execution.
I bring strong organisational skills, accountability, and a genuine commitment to learning fast. While I don't have prior committee experience, I see that as motivation rather than a limitation — I'm coming into this role hungry, prepared, and fully committed to putting in the work.
IndianSoc is more than a society — it's a home. I want to ensure the systems behind it are as strong as the community itself.
