Ryan Wong

Hi! I am Ryan Wong, a pianist, arranger and composer.

My favourite composer is Bach, and I particularly admire the way how he merged both professional and amateur musicians in different roles to create the grand and coherent sounds of baroque music. His music teaches me that music is a conversation, where everyone should have a voice. This is a philosophy I bring into this campaign.

First, everyone gets to play. Whether you’ve played since childhood or are picking up your instrument for the first time, you belong here. I hope to shape a community which validates our self-expression and artistic identities, and gives everyone a part to play. We will learn from each other, not just perform for each other.

Second, we honor our past to secure our future. I will work to keep its heart beating—maintaining connections with alumni and preserving the traditions that make us strong, while ensuring the society is just as vibrant for the years to come.
