As a first year, I have enjoyed immersing myself with the different DoCSOC events that on offer; dutifully checking into the Weekly Digest to see what each week brought. As Communications Officer, I want to ensure that all DoCSOC members are fully aware of the range of events and opportunities that are available during the year.
My three main objectives are:
1. Effectively manage emails and meetings
Speed is efficiency. Between managing my Instagram, LinkedIn and email accounts, I have learnt how to stay on top of my communication channels along with any enquiries and comments that have come up. I plan to use these time management and organisation skills to help organise DoCSOC meetings and respond to email enquiries quickly.
2. Spread the DoCSOC word and Computing drive
There is so much to the society and alongside all our social, sponsor and academic events and opportunities, I want to introduce ‘Bytesize News’ where all members of DoCSOC can learn an interesting fact or something new that is going on within the field of Computing.
3. Specialist email designs
A little festive cheer can go along way and, to bring some holiday cheer to your inbox, I aim to design special Weekly digests for different holiday celebrations throughout the year.
