Boat: Secretary

Hi everyone, I’m Chris, a second year Aeronautics student, and I am running for secretary. If you don’t know me, I’m most easily recognised as the guy with an arm cast. I’ve been at the boat club since I joined Imperial and raced in the Temple eight at Henley last year. Having talked to Kelvin about the role he has played in this year’s committee as secretary, I feel like I have a good understanding of what is expected from a secretary and the role you play in the day-to-day operations of the boat club. Being secretary can be a very time-intensive job, organising meetings, taking minutes as well as handling the boat club email/website for potential athletes and enquiring sponsors. Unlike some other candidates (Theo), I tend to get to sessions/lectures on time, as I’m not deaf to my alarm (this high-level skill is transferable to email responses/committee obligations!). Kelvin has done a great job this year, and I hope to follow the standard he has set.

Thanks for reading – and I’d really appreciate your vote.
