Layomi Obarotimi
Hi, I'm Layomi, in 3rd year, and I am running for Treasurer because I would like to support CivSoc’s finances, strategically managing to maximise opportunities for every member.
Having already served on two committees during my time at Imperial – as Sponsorship Officer and Secretary – I understand the responsibility and commitment required to make a society run effectively. In these roles, I have worked closely with the Union, managed documentation, coordinated funding outreach, and helped implement structured systems to keep committee operations organised and accountable. This experience means I am already familiar with how societies run and the standards expected of committee members, and I would now like to bring that experience to support our own departmental society.
As Treasurer, I would approach the role with the same organisation, accountability, and attention to detail that I have applied in my previous positions. I want to ensure our finances are well structured, responsibly managed, and aligned with the long-term vision for sustainability. By maintaining transparent records, communicating openly with the committee, and liaising effectively with the department, I aim to help CivSoc deliver high-quality events while building a stable financial foundation for future committees.
In my final year at Imperial, I would like to help CivSoc build a strong financial foundation that enables high-quality events and sustained growth for years to come.
