Finance: Treasurer

Hi everyone, I’m Nadine, a first‑year Materials student. Finsoc has genuinely opened doors for me despite coming from a non‑finance background. The workshops and panel discussions this year have given me real insight into different areas of finance, and they’ve helped me figure out what I want to hone in on. I want to give that same support back to students who are curious about finance, whether they’re just exploring or already committed to the path.

Being at so many events has also given me a good understanding of how Finsoc operates, especially around budgeting and logistics. Combined with my previous experience managing finances and organising events in societies and student council, I believe I’m a strong fit for Treasurer.

As Treasurer, I want to make our initiatives more accessible and better funded so we can continue running high‑quality workshops, networking sessions, and skill‑building events that help students break into the industry. I also want to introduce a simple but effective feedback system where members can suggest or vote for the types of events they want to see. This will help us plan the budget earlier and make sure our spending reflects what students actually value.

Responsible budgeting and transparent spending is my way to help Finsoc grow, building students' confidence in their futures: Every Pound with Purpose.
