Good morning, afternoon, or evening (or nightπ΄π€)! I’m Michael (Guanhao Du), and I am running to be your β¨AeroSoc Presidentβ¨ for the 2026-27 academic year.
As your current Treasurer for AeroSoc, my main goal was to be more involved besides managing eActivities claims and forms. I absolutely loved helping the team plan events for yall, and even more, powering through bureaucratic πͺ¦$&#*#$^π₯ with your beloved President and Secretary.
However, in observing the AeroSoc happenings both as participant (in my previous two years of study) and manager now, I would like to underline a couple focuses/foci(β) of my AeroSoc presidential candidacy.
Presence in the student body (that's you!π«΅π²)
I thoroughly enjoyed singing for yall and watching the cohort push-up competition at our CAGB 300 social last year. But we can do more!πππ
These are great opportunities to connect the four year groups of our Department, and for me it's always such a joy to meet people in the other cohorts, provide guidance, and chat about what Errikos and Maria have cooked upπ³π³.
Connection to industry and academiaβοΈβοΈ
Our team has invited so many wonderful guest speakers from a wealth of industries (from racing to accident investigation). I would love to add to this collection πspeakers from academia and researchπ. To complement our existing industry site visits, I would also love to explore partnerships with the Royal Aeronautical Society’s events and help our emerging student researchers develop their academic careers.
So what are you waiting for? VOTE DU: JUST DU IT!π₯³π₯³π₯³
