Hi! I’m Polina and I’m running for Funkology President 💃🤍

I’ve been dancing since I was 8. Before Imperial, I trained and performed internationally, competed for years, taught (commercial, heels, and a little vogue fem), and worked as a backup dancer for TV shows. At Imperial I’ve been on FYP (intermediate) and I’m now on Crew (advanced), and I’ve choreographed a commercial piece this year that contributed to our first-place win at UCL Transcendence competition.

If elected, my priority is making Funkology feel even more welcoming, consistent, and easy to grow in - whether you’re here for fun, community, or crews. Since most of our classes are beginner-friendly, my focus is helping people stick with it: clearer weekly info on style, better signposting of what to take next, and working with teachers to keep classes structured in a way that builds real foundations. That way beginners don't feel lost and regulars still feel pushed. I also want Funkology to feel social and supportive - like a place where showing up alone still feels fun.

For competition season, I’ll keep training organised and predictable by sharing key dates, rehearsal plans, and expectations early (e.g. attendance, deadlines, intensity), so auditions and comp term feel fair and focused. I’ll also prioritise performance quality, not just technique - facials, formations, stamina, and confidence - so what we put on stage looks clean and impactful.
