Hello! I am Arnav, currently the Vice President of Operations of Physics. Owing to my current role in the society, I have been closely involved with committee members and know the inner workings of PhySoc.
We have had some great events this year, which were even bigger from last year. Our big events such as Christamas Dinner and QUIRK+ were great successes and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. We released some very nice merch including the BlackCatt hoodies. In addition to the big events, we also had smaller chiller ones such as Lunar New Year Decoration, integration bees, games night, etc. Our weekly talks and guest lectures are a constant and will always remain so. We have the Researchathon and a boat party planned and we also organised a lot of careers panels to help with UROP, PhD, etc. But apart from the current stuff what more can PhySoc do?
Postgrad events - Establish that PhySoc will hold social events for Postgrads early on and organise them
Trips - Aim to organise national and interantional trips to CERN, Culham Centre, Rutherford Appleton, etc
More Phamily events - Organise events aimed towards physics families such as quiz nights
Sponsors - Plan on targeting a diverse range of companies such as consulting, start ups, etc
PhySoc has always been a comfort place for me (and I hope many others). I intend to keep it that way and honor the past committee members and their work.
