I landed in London with both a heavy suitcase and heart, aware that home was a 13-hour flight away. Everything felt unfamiliar until MSOC stepped in. Somewhere within the long MNight practice hours, the struggle to memorise 51 Dikir Barat steps and exhaustion from Bollywood dance, I found friendships that made London feel like home.

As President, I want to create those same meaningful experiences for others who miss home. I plan to foster genuine connections within MSOC, so no Malaysian at Imperial feels alone. I want our society to be more than just a community, but a place you can turn to when you feel like you don’t belong anywhere else.

Experiences:

Vice President, Malaysia’s Olympiad Association(AMISO). Liased with Ministry of Education Malaysia for event and sponsorship proposals.

Industrial Relations & Sponsorship Associate(Imperial’s ChemEngSociety). Organise career events.

Outreach Officer of BASEInitiative & KYUEMSummit. Drafted emails and secured high-profile speakers (Dr Ong Kian Ming).

  1. Introduce Alumni One-to-One Career Advisor Programme.
  2. Increase Sponsors Engagement Events (Work-Shadowing).
  3. Launch Imperial Mock IV Programme for Malaysian Pre-University Students.
  4. Target STEM/Course-Based Society Sponsors.

Welfare

  1. Organise Mamak Night/Bazaar Event.
  2. Introduce Accommodation Buddy Programme.
  3. Introduce MSOC Retreat & Day Trips.
  4. Introduce Course-Based Mentorship.

Communication

  1. Establish ICUMS website.
  2. Elect Student Ambassadors in Malaysian Pre-University Colleges.
  3. Reestablish a Clear Termly Timeline.
  4. Strengthen Inter-Departmental Coordination.

With my experiences & skills, I will lead MSOC with compassion, and purpose to build a welcoming home away from home for every Malaysian at Imperial.
