Materials: President

Did you like the lunchtime lectures? Did you enjoy the free pizza in common room? Then please vote for me to be your president:)

For the past year, I was the vice president and organised tons of events. I organised the grand career fair in October, and ALL the lunchtime lectures, with more to come in the summer term. I'm also organising an exciting industry trip for the summer term (stay tuned for ticket release:)).
Not only did I organise these events, I also helped out all other committee members with their respective roles. I have a strong passion for MatSoc and dedicate my time to it.

If I become the president, here are a few things I would like to do:

  • Acquire more sponsors, so you could have more industrial access, cheaper event tickets, and more free food:)
  • Organise more networking events, like a start-up fair, alumni meetup or a networking dinner with industry experts
  • Build a closer relationship with the London Materials Society, so there’s more access for the students to the resources that they have.

But besides my ideas, I’m very open to implementing your preferences. Last year, people suggested academic staff for lunchtime lectures, and I’ve been doing it ever since. I’m always around in the department, so if you have any suggestions about MatSoc, you’re more than welcome to talk to me:)

To sum up, I'll use the language we all (try to) understand:
