Hi everyone, I'm Issabelle and it has been an absolute pleasure to be your 25-26 Events Officer, orchestrating the largest and one of the most successful MatSoc Dinners to date!

Next year, I would love for the opportunity to give back in an aspect close to my heart.

From attending a state school in one of the poorest parts of the country, with the lowest progression to higher education, I was often told "no", and that there wasn't a place for people like me to attend universities like this.

I know how hard you've worked to be here, and stay here, so as Vice President I hope to open doors by furthering your career skills; continuing Lunchtime Lectures to discover aspects about our department and industry; putting on an excellent and insightful industry trip; and expanding the Careers Fair into a Careers Week!

With my experience in MatSoc (amongst other societies), I understand the bureaucracy of the Union, finances, and marketing ourselves to external companies. With careful planning, I hope to back food to our Lunchtime Lectures, as well as strengthen our brand outside the walls of the RSM!

I hope as VP, I can provide the tools for our students to succeed, and remind you, it's not about where you came from, but where you are now, and where you want to do.

So, please make that difference, and vote for MatSoc committee member with a proven track record in myself, to become the next MatSoc Vice President.
