Hi guys! I am Sreeja Sarkar, a first-year biochemist proud to be running for Deputy Broadsheet Editor of RCSU as I’m passionate about both the integration of STEM and humanities as well as creative expression to share knowledge and insights for the community. As a major contributor and member of my school science magazine, I have experience in writing, editing and organising scientific articles for a large-scale online magazine.
As Deputy Editor, I would support the Editor in maintaining high academic writing standards while also encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration. I want to help writers feel confident in their voice, whether it's a research-based science piece, a reflective humanities essay, or a creative response to current issues; while also bridging any communication gaps between the writing, editing, illustrating, and layout teams. I will work hard to ensure a timely release of the issue by regularly following up with writers and keeping everyone updated with the progress of Broadsheet.
Some of my goals include:
- Supporting writers one-on-one to overcome any challenges like writer's block
