I’m Lisa Li, your candidate for Alumni Officer.
Running for the role that connects us with RCS alumni, I want to construct student-alumni relationships that go beyond ‘networking’.
An Imperial degree on our CV might open Imperial employers’ and investors’ doors, but the shared experience of being part of Imperial should do more than that. It should enable us to build solid connections, exchange opinions, and support one another beyond graduation.
As a first-year Biochemistry student, I have both the time and the drive to turn these ideas into action:
🎙️ More frequent Career Panels. As a fellow undergraduate student, I know many of us feel uncertain about our next steps. Regular, focused panels would showcase the diverse paths our degrees can lead to. This also gives us the chance to proactively ask for advices from those who’ve been there before.
💬 A shared online platform for students and alumni. This will be a space where students can reach out for advice, internships, and support for start-ups. Meanwhile, this is also a place for alumni to mentor, discover talent, and engage with Imperial-founded projects.
I’ve directed a 70+ member theatre production, organised synthetic biology fairs across eight schools, and led charity concerts for hundreds of attendees. I know how to turn ideas into reality.
