Hello DesEng! Allow me to introduce myself – I’m Aliza and I know I can be an excellent departmental wellbeing rep if you’ll give me the chance. If there’s one thing anyone should know about me it’s that once I start caring about someone, I will give my all to make sure they are well-taken care-of, and believe it or not, I care about all of YOU, my fellow desengers! I believe it’s important to maintain a positive, supportive environment in an educational institution, especially one as academically demanding as ours! I will work hard to maintain a comfortable and inclusive atmosphere where students are not made to feel held back due to barriers such as socioeconomic status, keeping equity and access to wellbeing resources for all in mind. As your representative I will make sure to listen and understand all your concerns – I will work hard to mitigate any worries as efficiently as possible. I will make sure I am available to listen, to support and to guide you to an improved personal wellbeing, making sure you thrive and are that much more likely to get that first in your degree you most definitely deserve! If I am elected, I will make sure to establish regular rapport with academic staff, devise strategies to reduce students’ stress and keep you updated with any departmental changes that could affect your wellbeing. Vote for me, and I’ll work to make sure every DesEng student feels supported, heard, and able to thrive.
