Bioengineering (UG): Departmental Wellbeing Representative
Hello everyone,
It's me again, this year, I wish to re-run for our department's Wellbeing Representative.
During my term, I organised the Student Staff Social at Metric Bar, raised issues at the Staff Student Committee Meeting, and ran events such as the Christmas Dinner with BioEng Society and Valentine's Movie Night.
But next year, I want to do more for our department.
One major task is to collaborate with the department on more studies and the well-being space together when negotiating with the college. This is a collaborative process between students and staff. We are living in a packed space in South Kensington and are gradually transitioning to the White City. I think there is a real opportunity for students to get involved and benefit from it.
Additionally, I wish to smooth the process of finding accommodation for Year 1 and returning students by setting up a flat search board and flatmate group chats, as well as summarising 'Flat Renting 101' - common issues people might find when dealing with cunning and calculating agents.
Lastly, I will continue the coffee chat as an informal way for students to raise their concerns, and open a wellbeing column on “Splice” - our BioEng magazine. In short, to maintain a stable communication channel with everyone in the department.
Thank you, and I greatly value your trust in voting for me.
Best regards,
Apollo Yang
